Excellent Motel convenient to Napier art-deco”

Apr 23, 2010 | Trip type: Couples A very pleasant motel on the ’front’ with easy parking, and immediate access to the town and all its art-deco buildings. We could only stay one night; our en-suite room was spacious, clean and had a large spa bath in the bedroom itself.
There are no immediate ‘sea views’ as there is a road and trees in front of the motel, but it is excellently situated. When we were there it was quiet with very little traffic noise.
Breakfasts are available if you want to order them, and were fine, although not B&B standard, which is to be expected.
If you need a motel in Napier, this would be an excellent one to choose.

Mine husband and i spend 2 nights here. Nothing was to much the new owners are great. If you need any help they there.
We stayed on the third floor in a luxe suites with a living room and bedroom. We also had a big spa pool in the room. The view is really nice to the sea. It is only 5 minutes walking from the centre and the supermarket.
It is great to stay for a longer time in this room because you can also cook all the utitilies where there in te kitchen.
If you want to stay in a really nice and good place stay in this motel. The bed is awesome and i slept as an angel.

Modern accommodation, very spacious with nice decor in a great location outside Napier Central. We loved the encoirment of the area and were very happy with our selection

Took an exceutive room here for 2 nights and never regretted it one bit. Lovely big room; all new furniture; large 2 person spa bath attached to the bedroom plus a very nice shower room. All in all the whole place was first class. The new owners --John and his wife Llynis--have really put money into this place and it shows. In addition they are friendly helpful and polite and nothing is too much trouble. Just afterw e arrived there was a storm which made the balcony glass dirty; once the weather improved John was there like a shot cleaning the glass.
Theres much competition on Marine Parade Napier but value for money you shoudl give this place a try--you wont be disappointed especially with free internet and laundry too. And although its on the main road the very thick glass does shut out the noise totally and we agree with a previous comment--the beds are lovely lovely
Would we return--absolutely 100%-no question

“Great stay”

Mar 30, 2010 | Trip type: Couples John and Llanys have recently taken over this establishment and if our experience is anything to go by they will make a great success of it. Good location on the sea front the rooms are spacious, well presented and very comfortable. We had a great spa bath and a television in our bedroom and the lounge area. Good free internet and guest laundry facility made life comfortable for us. I will recommend close friends to stay there and will go back when I am next in Napier.

“Service, location and cleanliness all 100%”

Dec 8, 2010 | Trip type: Couples We had a few days break in Napier recently and chose Motel de la Mer based on Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. This motel is very clean and a credit to the owners. Their service was extremely helpful without being in-your-face! with even driving us out to the port for a meal one night. The location was perfect with only a short walk to shops & restaurants....[and do try the Organic restaurant a few doors up!!!]. We were on the second floor and had a great view of the beach. The aquarium is just opposite and hearing the seal “honk” on an odd occasion was really funny too. Fantastic to have free wifi. Thanks for making our stop very comfortable & friendly, and we definitely look forward to staying with you again.

“The perfect place to stay in Napier for business or leisure!”

Dec 13, 2010 | Trip type: Business Having just spent a week at the Motel de la Mer in Napier I would most certainly recommend it as the luxury accommodation of choice for either business or leisure guests visiting Hawkes Bay. The motel is perfectly located on Marine Parade and we had a beautiful view of
the sea from our room. The rooms are modern, spacious and beautifully decorated, with a fantastic spa pool and a very comfy bed! The hosts made us most welcome from the moment we arrived and the rooms were serviced to an impeccably high standard on a daily basis. I would recommend this motel to any travellers or business clients looking for a little bit of luxury in Hawkes Bay!
