Motel de la Mer Policies
All reservations made through this website must be accompanied by valid credit card details. The value of the first nights accommodation will be taken on the day of reservation and the balance will be collected prior to your departure.
All rates are quoted in NZ dollars on a per night basis and include GST @ 15%. All accounts must be settled directly with Ranges & Rivers Ltd – T/A Motel De La Mer. The prices indicated are per room, for the number of people and the date(s) selected previously, unless otherwise specified (packages). Rates do not apply to conferences, conventions or special events for which contracted rates and special terms and conditions apply
Cancellation & Refund Policy: All cancellations must be received no later than 72 Hours prior to your arrival. All cancellations attract a $25.00 administration fee. If you cancel 72 hours prior to your arrival or less you will be charged 100% of the total accommodation amount.This includes no shows and cancellation of nights after arrival. Please note: Special events and promotional room rates/offers a no cancellation policy applies, which means, no refunds or changes permitted unless otherwise stated. Should a registered guest of Motel De La Mer causes a disturbance whilst on premise, we have the right to remove you and a refund will not be available.
All cancellations and amendments must be received in writing. Refunds will only be made to the credit card debited for the original transaction. The price advertised might not be the same price charged to the credit card account due to exchange rate. Fluctuations - This means that because we are based in New Zealand we have to convert your purchase to New Zealand Dollars at the exchange rate on the day it is processed.
Reservations Age: You must be 18 years or over. Payment will be taken in full at the time of booking and Proof of ID will be required on arrival and presentation of credit card. All reservations made through this web site must be accompanied by credit card details.
Credit Card Charges:
Payment by credit card will attract a surcharge: Visa/Mastercard Cards @ 2.5%, American Express/Diners Cards @ 2.95%. Payment by cash, direct credit or Eftpos - surcharges do not apply
Arrival and Departure Times
Check in time is 2pm - 9.00pm (unless by prior arrangement) Check out time is 7.30am - 10am (unless by prior arrangement)

- Direct Bookings/Reservations Direct bookings/reservations with the hotel will be at the contracted rates in New Zealand (NZD) dollars and will be due for settlement upon confirmation or by alternative arrangement. Method of payment (Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners, Debit Card or Eftpos).
- Child Policy & Extra Guests: We have two one bedroom and two studio spa rooms that are able to accommodate extra guests. A child is regarded as an extra person and a charge of $30.00 per person applies.
Special Event Reservation/Cancellation Policy
All reservations over a Special Event Period for example: Mission Weekend or Art Deco; require a minimum of 50% and up to 100% deposit at the time of booking/confirmation.
Special Event Reservation Cancellations;
Within 45 days, 50% Deposit will be retained (non refundable) Within 7 days Your credit card will be charged for the balance of your reservation value.
For your comfort and that of our other guests Motel de la mer has a no pets policy. Should we discover a pet has been staying, the room will require a special clean and a fee of $250 will be applied.
No Fish, No Curry please
Please refrain from cooking odourous foods such as curry and fish as the smell lingers and is unpleasant for others who come to stay. Where foods of this nature have been cooked, a cleaning fee of $250 will apply.
